What are your prospects for Immigrating to Canada?
3. Family Class
- a. Spouses
b. Parents & Grandparents
5. Humanitarian and Compassionate Cases
6. Business Class

This year Canada will accept over 200,000 immigrants - as entrepreneurs, investors, family class members, skilled workers, provincial nominees, refugees, and self employed workers...from all over the world.
Immigration Canada is attempting to keep pace with labour market shortages in various regions of Canada.
In September 2008 the Canadian Experience Class was introduced. This category is a high priority with processing times in the range of eight months. If you attend school in Canada and/or you have work experience in Canada this class may benefit you.
The bottom line is that it is becoming more complicated. In February 2008 the Minister announced that new independent applications will not always be dealt with in the order they are received nor is there a guarantee that if you achieve 67 points you will receive a visa.
Instead we will see applications from those with high demand occupations given more priority.
In addition to cope with the demand in certain occupations there is an 'expedited labour market opinion', and a list of 'occupations under pressure'.
Added to this are provincial nominee programs that enable provinces to select candidates they see as strategically important and the result is a great deal of change that could affect the outcome of your application.
